About Launch Window

Launch Window exists because of a simple, maddening problem: seeing a rocket launch in person is a bucket-list trip, but rocket launches don't cooperate with travel planning. Dates float for weeks, firm up days before liftoff, and slip again without warning — while the good hotel rooms near the launch site disappear the moment a date looks real.

We solve the timing problem. Our tracking engine monitors the public signals that precede every SpaceX Starship launch from Starbase, Texas — the global launch schedule, official beach and road closure filings, FAA airspace restrictions, Coast Guard marine notices, FCC communications filings, and physical pad activity — around the clock, every few minutes. When the signals agree that a launch window is real, subscribers get one alert: it's time to book. When dates move or attempts get delayed, subscribers hear that too.

Everything the engine calls is published, timestamped, on our track record page — including the calls where staying silent was the right answer. We publish misses the same way we publish hits.

Who's behind this

Launch Window is independently built and run by Dmitry, a Texas-based developer who wanted to see a Starship launch in person and discovered that knowing when to book was the hardest part of the trip. The site, the tracking engine, and the guides grew out of solving that problem properly.

We are not affiliated with SpaceX, the City of Starbase, Cameron County, the FAA, the U.S. Coast Guard, or the FCC. We read the same public records anyone can read — we just never stop reading them.

How we make money

Email and browser-push alerts are free, and always will be. Text-message alerts cost us real money (carriers charge per text), so SMS will eventually become a modest paid tier — but founding subscribers keep it free, forever. Sign up for text alerts during our first launch season and you'll never pay for them; the paid tier will only ever apply to people who join later. Some hotel, flight, and travel links on this site are affiliate links: if you book through them, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Commissions never influence what we tell you about launch timing — alerts fire based on public signals, not on what pays. We say so on every page where it applies, and our privacy policy covers exactly what we do (and don't do) with your information.
